Sparkling wine “Leopold Leman” Rose Brut, Cremant de Bordeaux AOC

Introduction

“Julien Barthazac” Rose de Noirs Brut – pink sparkling wine, for the production of which are used grapes of Cabernet Franc and Merlot, grown in the vineyards of the Antre-de-Mer region. Entre-deux-Mers is a large wine sub-region of Bordeaux in southwestern France. Its name literally translates as “between two seas”, although in fact it is about the rivers – Garonne and Dordogne, which respectively form the southern and northern borders of the region. Harvested when the berries reach optimum ripeness. The base wine gets a pronounced pink color through a short maceration process. According to the traditional production method, secondary fermentation of the base wine takes place in the bottle. Ripening on lees can take from 12 to 24 months. After disgorgement (removing the sediment from the bottle), a dosage liqueur is added. Sparkling wine can be served as an aperitif, as well as salads, fish, seafood and berry desserts.
