Wine “Alteno” Chianti DOCG, 2023

Introduction

“Alteno” – a line of wines of categories IGT, DOC, DOCG from grapes grown in various regions of Italy. Wines are designed for everyday use, a wide range of the line will allow you to choose a drink for any dish.
“Alteno” Chianti is a red dry wine from the grape varieties of Sangiovese and Canajolo Nero, grown in Chianti, a wine region located in the central part of Tuscany. The Chianti terroir is characterized by hilly terrain and a variety of soils. After harvesting, which has reached the optimum degree of maturity, grapes are pressed and combed. The wort is fermented in stainless steel vats at a temperature of 28-30 C. This high temperature is required to maximize the extraction of aromatic substances and color pigments from the grape skin. After fermentation, the wine is removed from the sediment and the apple-milk fermentation and aging takes place. Before bottling Chianti is cleaned and filtered.

Immediately after the end of World War II, the two brothers, Secondo and Luigi Martini, decided to establish their own wine business in the heart of Langhe, the famous wine region of Piedmont. The firm received its name on behalf of its creators – “Fratelli Martini Secondo Luigi”. Now the company has turned into a mega-concern, producing more than 35 million liters of alcoholic beverages per year. The company still remained a family, headed by the sons of the founders – Gianni and Piero Martini. Today the winery Fratelli Martini represents its wines not only in Italy, but also in the world market.
