  • Rosso di Montepulciano, 2012 – a delightful young red wine with soft berry flavor, velvety tannins and lively acidity. The wine is produced in the vicinity of the famous mountain town of Montepulciano, and vineyards grow at an altitude of 270-375 meters above sea level. Age of vines varies from 10 to 40 years, and planting density is 7158 vines per hectare. As noted by Matteo Giustiniani, oenologist home Avignonesi, “thanks to the abundant fruity and refreshing acidity, the wine Rosso di Montepulciano is a dramatic example of varietal Sangiovese grown in Montepulciano. This young wine will be a universal ideal couple a wide variety of dishes.”

    Harvest for wine production in 2012 was collected in the period from 19 September to 10 October at 5 sites: “La Banditella”, “I Poggetti”, “Le Badelle”, “Le Capezzine” and “El Grasso”. After careful manual selection of berries gently pressed and shipped in steel tanks at a three-day maceration. During the fermentation method used natural fermentation, as well as procedures and delestazha remontazha. The final stage of vinification are malolactic fermentation and aging for 5 months. Both steps take place in oak barrels, with one of the wines are aged in French oak barriques, and the second part – in large Slavonian oak barrels. Total production was 58 000 bottles.

    History of Wine House Avignonesi began in the second half of the XVI century, when the architect’s drawings Jacopo Barozzi was built a beautiful palace Palazzo Avignonesi in Montepulciano. In his cellar wine barrels “Vino Nobile”, belonging to the family of Avignonesi. “Quality is created by people: it is improved thanks to the experience, dream and dedication,” – these words is the philosophy of Wine House Avignonesi having over their shoulders centuries of experience and embody his dream in life – the production of high quality wines, praising their region.
    Several centuries later, in 1974, the company has experienced considerable change – control winery passed three brothers Fulvia by which Avignonesi become a strong player in the Italian wine market, and has become one of the largest landowners in the region with more than 250 hectares of lands, of which 225 ha were placed under the vineyards.

    The main activity of the company is focused on the production of Avignonesi powerful red wines “Vino Nobile”, which brought fame to the wine house. Avignonesi also produces a small amount of sweet wine “Vin Santo” – one of the best in its class. Apart from the traditional to the region of Montalcino wines, the company produces wine Supertuscan: “Desiderio” grape varieties Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, “50 & 50” from Sangiovese and Merlot, as well as white wine “Il Marzocco” of Chardonnay. The company also produces excellent Avignonesi grappa and olive oil “Extra Vergin”, for which the crop harvested in their own olive groves.
