  • “Pietro dal Cero”, 2008 – magnificent red semi-dry wine hails from the Veneto. It is produced from grapes growing on plots nearby Pian di Castagn – the highest point of the valley Marchelize. Vineyards fit on the destroyed ridge rises to the Pian di Castagn. Unique mountain climate provides ideal conditions for the cultivation of grapes black autochthonous varieties of Valpolicella. Dense soil at 20-30 meters deep are made up of layers of white clay and gravel, well holding the water and at the same time not allowing it to stagnate, which provides an excellent source of moisture for the roots of the vines in times of drought.

Creating wine “Pietro Dal Cero” comes an unusually long way. After the harvest, which is made entirely by hand, the grapes for 4 months left in the basket for podvyalivaniya berries. Dried fruits are crushed and subjected to maceration of the skin. Contact with the skins lasts longer than usual. Followed by malolactic fermentation stage, after which the 12 months aged wine in stainless steel tank vessels, and then in oak barrels for two years. After bottling the wine matures and gains strength for another 2 years.

Winery Ca Dei Frati was founded by Italian monks in the end of the XVIII century, they also started breeding the famous local grape varieties Lugano. A century with a small estate acquired Dal Cero family, whose descendants still own this famous farm.
Today, the family Dal Cero has 61 hectares of land on which cultivates only autochthonous grapes and, above all, the white variety Trebbiano di Lugana. The wines from this grape are obtained especially fresh, juicy, unexpectedly strong and powerful that repeatedly noted by many wine critics.
