Introduction

Brand Cantina di Negrar – Life of the Cantina Valpolicella Negrar. This line pays tribute to the philosophy of cooperative production and recalls the historical artifacts remain on the territory of Negrar: Lion of St. Mark, placed on a column in the center of Negrar, which is a testament to the rule of the Venetian Republic in the XVI century.

Cantina di Negrar, Valpolicella Classico – young red wine that expresses the authentic features of the land on which it was born – Valpolicella Classico. It combines contemporary clean lines with elegance and freshness that makes the wine suitable for combination with modern Italian cuisine. Vineyards in the Valpolicella Classico region located at an altitude of 100-250 meters above sea level. The soil type is very diverse. Age of vines between 15 and 25 years. Harvested in late September, after a careful selection of vines by hand. At the winery berries gently crushed. Fermentation takes place at a temperature of 25-28 C, maceration lasts 7 days. After malolactic fermentation the wine is aged in steel tanks, bottled and about 4 months spent in the cellars of the winery. The potential for wine storage is 3 years.

Winery Cantina Valpolicella Negrar was organized in 1933, several small producers uncompetitive. Today Cantina Negrar – an association of 180 winegrowers, one of the largest wine-producing cooperatives in Italy. They advise and coordinate the activities of about 200 owners of vineyards, whose total area is 500 hectares. Old recipes combined with modern innovations that are used with great caution and care – a guarantee of high quality. All the vineyards are located on the hills of Valpolicella Classico region in north-west of Verona. Annual production now stands at more than 8 million bottles of wine obtained from over 60,000 quintals (13 million pounds) of grapes.
