Wine “Chateau Brandeau”, Castillon Cotes de Bordeaux AOC, 2019

Introduction

Chateau Brandeau, Castillon Cotes de Bordeaux AOC – organic red dry wine made from selected grapes of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, which is grown on the clay-calcareous soils of the company’s vineyards in the Castillon Cotes de Bordeaux zone, adjacent to the famous Grand Cru Pomrol and Saint-Emilion … The average age of the vines reaches 40 years. The grapes harvested by hand undergo double sorting and fermentation, which takes place without temperature control with wild yeast without the addition of sulfites. Maceration takes about 4 weeks and is followed by regular pumping of the wort for better color and tannin extraction. The wine is aged for 16 months in large oak vats with a volume of 5000 liters, which brings complexity and a very light, perfectly integrated oak hue to the taste and aroma. The wine is bottled without pasting and filtration, with a minimum addition of sulfur. The potential of the wine is at least 10 years.
