Wine Cranswick, “Sarus”Shiraz, 2016

Introduction

Red wine “Lakefield” Shiraz Cabernet from the company Cranswick is made from a blend of varieties Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon grown in vineyards located in the region of Riverina, which has a long history dating back to 1912. Vineyards in the Riverina are at an altitude of 136 meters above sea level and occupies a plot of land around the town of Griffith, in the heart of New South Wales. The soil is a mixture of gravel and clay, lime is in the interior. Precipitation is distributed evenly throughout the year, warm and dry summer provides excellent conditions for ripening grapes, ensuring freshness of flavor and bright berries taste palette. The average age of the vines – 14-18 years. Wine kept for about six months in French oak and a few months in bottles in the cellar of the winery.

There is evidence that the name is derived from Cranswick Crane’s Wyke – the eponymous village in Yorkshire, and Lakefield – this reserve, which is one of Australia’s largest and is located on the Cape York Peninsula.
