Wine Felsina, “Fontalloro”, Toscana IGT, 2019

Introduction

“Fontalloro” – an amazing wine that expresses the personality of the land on both sides of the border. The thing is that Sangiovese for “Fontalloro” grown at two sites separated by a border not only on an administrative basis, but also geologically and scenery. Vintage vineyard “Fontalloro” (um. – “Golden source”), after whom is named the wine, is located in the Chianti Classico zone. The other two – “Casalino” and “Arcidossino” – in the area of Chianti Colli Senesi. For the Chianti Classico is characterized by rocky hills and limestone soil, Chianti Colli Senesi land full of sand, silt, small pebbles and marine sediments. The abundance of forests and vineyards on one side opposed to the wheat fields on the other. In “Fontalloro” harmoniously combined both terroir and this unity makes the taste of wine is always recognizable.

The grapes for wine making “Fontalloro” done by hand in two stages, with a selection of the best grapes. After destemming and fermentation is carried out at a spinning temperature of 28-30 C. Maceration for 16-20 days with daily automatic pizhazhem. Malolactic fermentation is carried out. Extract of wine produced in barriques for 18-22 months, then the wine is assembled in steel tanks and aged in bottles of 8-12 months.
