Wine Fuori Mondo, “Amae” Volpaiole, Toscana IGT, 2015

Introduction

“Amae” Volpaiole – exquisite Tuscan red dry wine made from selected Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, hand-picked from the vineyard of the Volpaiole estate. In Tuscan dialect, the word “Volpaiole” means “Fox’s corner”. The animal’s head was stylized by a German artist and depicted on the label as a red triangle on a white background as a symbol of the vineyard. Located in the hills of the Maremma, on the famous Etruscan coast, among a number of national parks, the Volpaiole vineyard is inhabited by various representatives of the local flora and is an object of a very diverse world of fauna. A walk through these places will intoxicate with the aromas of mint, violet and wild fennel. The vineyard is located at an altitude of 150-180 meters above sea level and has a southern and southeastern exposure. The soils are mainly clay and shale. The vines are processed according to the Guyot system. Fermentation takes place in steel vats under strict temperature control. The wine is aged for about a year in 225-liter French oak barrels, during which time the wine forms a noble and harmonious profile. After bottling, the wine matures in bottles for 12-18 months. The potential of the wine is over 10 years.
