Introduction

H. Lun, “1840” Pinot Noir – dry red wine made from Pinot Noir. Since 1840, H. Lun wines have been synonymous with exquisite quality from South Tyrol. The unique nature of the terroir allows you to produce incomparable wines with original and independent character. It has a mild alpine-continental climate with more than 300 sunny days a year. From the north, the Alps rid South Tyrolean vineyards of cold winds; the land is open to the south, so that the Mediterranean currents from Lake Garda and the Mediterranean nourish the vineyards. The large temperature difference between day and night, the average temperature of 18 C during the vines growth phase and a sufficient amount of precipitation also create ideal conditions for producing high quality grapes. Harvested when the berries reach the optimum level of maturity and are carefully sorted. Wine is made by the classic technology for red wines. Vinification takes place in large oak barrels. Wine storage capacity is 4-5 years.

In the long history of South Tyrolean viticulture, H. Lun wines occupy a special position for more than 150 years. Back in 1840, Alois H. Lun, possessing entrepreneurial courage and perseverance, with great foresight produced only the best South Tyrolean wines under his name. So, was born the brand H. Lun. Currently, the H. Lun winery is transferred to Girlan, but remains an independent brand.
