  • Young dry white wine “Torre di Giano” is made from three grape varieties – Vermentino, Trebbiano and Grechetto. Crop harvested in September. The wine is produced by fermenting wort at low temperature in steel tanks, where the wort falls by gravity after a short kriotsematseratsii. Then the wine is aged on its lees before bottling for the duration of exposure to maintain a low temperature. The name of the wine is reminiscent of Roman origin Torgiano, as evidenced by the tower, built in honor of the two-headed god Janus (Gia). The label depicts one of the most beautiful fountains of the XIII century Italy – Fontana Maggiore of Perugia, on which are carved pieces of the collection and processing of grapes.

    Giorgio Lungarotti founded economy Cantine Giorgio Lungarotti in the early 60-ies of XX century, it is one of the devotees of modern high-quality wine. Currently Wineries Giorgio Lungarotti continue his 2 daughters – Chiara and Teresa. Their desire for new things while respecting the family tradition was the impetus for the development of winemaking in the region as a whole. Thanks to their efforts in 1968 wine area Torgiano (Torgiano) one of the first obtained the status of DOC, and since the harvest of 1983, wines of this region have a classification DOCG.
    The company also Lungarotti cultivates olive trees and produces excellent balsamic vinegar. A huge role in the company plays the wife of Giorgio Lungarotti – Maria Grazia Marchetti, which attaches great importance to the culture of wine consumption and its long history. Thanks to her in 1974, the company opened Lungarotti Wine Museum, which is located in the palace of the XVII century, and in 2000 the Museum was opened olive oil. In the possession of the family Lungarotti are 260 hectares of vineyards, of which 40 hectares are located in Torgiano and 20 hectares in Montefalco. The cultivation of the vine apply advanced methods and strict limitation of productivity, as well as respect for the environment.
