Wine “Medjida” Saperavi-Aladasturi

Introduction

“Tskhinvali Cellar” Saperavi is a semi-sweet red wine made from selected autochthonous Saperavi grapes grown in the Tskhinvali region of South Ossetia. The small republic is hidden behind the mighty peaks of the Greater Caucasus Range. This is a land of incredible beauty and natural wealth, the local relief is formed by gorges, mountains, rivers and lakes. The vineyards are located mainly at an altitude of 800 to 1000 meters above sea level. In the south of the republic, where the Tskhinvali region is located, a dry, steppe climate prevails with moderately cold winters and hot summers. The Main Caucasian Ridge protects the vineyards from extreme cold and winds. Mountain meadow soils dominate in the highlands, and brown forest soils on the plains. Thanks to favorable geoclimatic conditions and traditional methods of vinification, the company managed to create a wine with an expressive varietal aroma and a sweet, slightly tart taste, which is in perfect harmony with meat dishes, cheeses, sweet desserts, and pastries.
