Wine Neumeister, Gelber Muskateller “Vulkanland Steiermark”, 2019

Introduction

Neumeister, Gelber Muskateller “Steirische Klassik” – organic Muscateller from the zone in south-eastern Austria, called Vulkanland Steiermark (Styrian Volcanic Land) due to volcanic soil and volcano remnants still preserved in the region in the form of hills. Yellow Muscatelle is grown around the municipality of Straden, the age of the vines varies from 5 to 20 years. Vineyards are cultivated by hand, exclusively organic methods. Carefully sorted grapes undergo soft pressing, maceration on the skin for 12-18 hours and fermentation in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels at a controlled temperature of 20-23 C. Exposure lasts 4-5 months. The storage capacity of Gelber Muscateller “Steyrishe Classic” is 3 years.
