Wine Simcic Marjan, Ribolla, 2020

Introduction

Ribolla is an autochthon Slovenian grape variety, which experts say in the Gorishka Brda region under the influence of a mild climate gives the best results. From the harvest from young vines simple enough wines, reminiscent of Senso from the south of France, are obtained, but from the harvest from old vines, like Marjan Simchich (from 57 to 62 years old), show a fascinating beauty. Grapes harvested in early October are macerated for 24 hours and then fermented on natural yeast in stainless steel tanks. The aging of wine on a thin sediment lasts 8 months, after bottling it is left in bottles for stabilization for another month. Simcic Marjan, Ribolla can be beautifully stored and developed for about 10 years.
