Wine Tiefenbrunner, “Merus” Weiss, Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT, 2021

Introduction

To create an elegant and harmonious white dry wine “Merus” Weiss, Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT, the producer uses the Muller-Thurgau, Sauvignon Blanc grapes and a blend of other Burgundian varieties. The vineyards are located in Kortachcha and Penone at an altitude of 200-800 meters above sea level and grow on moraine soils with chalk inclusions. The earliest vines were planted in 1977. After harvesting the grapes are transported to the winery, where it is sorted and pressed, and then fermented in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 20 C. Before the wine enters the bottle, it is kept on its lees in concrete vats for 4 months. The release of the vintage 2017 has 8 thousand bottles. Wine storage capacity – 3 years.

Wine producer is the company Tiefenbrunner , which produces high-quality drinks, relying on innovative technologies. The winery is located in the village Kurtash and dates from the XII century. To date, the estate is owned by Herbert Tiefenbrunner and his son Christoph, who are considered experts in the world of noble drinks. The farm produces 750 thousand bottles annually, 70% of which are white wines.
The vineyards of Tiefenbrunner are located on the southern slopes of the hills, where each species has its own separate plot. The main credo of the winery – “Quality begins with a vineyard.”
