Introduction

High-quality wine line “Opoka” is presented with perfected monossepazhnymi wines. In the dialect of Brdy, the word “opoka” is called marl, which is a poor organic soil, but rich in mineral salts, which give the wines of this line a long aftertaste, character and unique features of the Brda terroir.
“Opoka” Ribolla is the brainchild of the oldest low-yielding vineyards, whose age exceeds 60 years. Wine does not release every year. The grapes are collected in mid-October and are macerated in contact with the peel for 6 days in a large cone-shaped oak tank. After that, grapes are gently squeezed on the pneumatic press. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 8 months in a 4000-liter oak barrel, 11 months in 500-liter wooden barrels (tonne) and at least 12 months in bottles after bottling. Potential of storage of “Opoka” Ribolla is more than 15 years.
